Reflections on Resilience

We have added some new resources to our page on resilience (click on the link at the top of this page).  The new materials help pupils to develop strategies for overcoming problems, and encourage them to reflect on how resilient they are being.  Many thanks to Growth Mindset Maths and @TheMathsMagpie for sharing some great materials.  Their ideas apply to all teaching, as this example shows:

Effective Learning

What sort of behaviours do we need to nurture in youngsters if they are to learn as effectively as possible?

A new page on the Learning@Loreto website summarises some of the research into this.  Click here.

Developing resilience

Pupils become more resilient when they understand that challenges and setbacks are an important part of learning. At the Beaumont Teachmeet, we were told about the Growth Mindsets work of Carol Dweck. This short presentation by Eduardo Briceno explains what this is all about. More about resilience on this page.
